Young Lions Media, a project of The Simon Poultney Foundation is pleased to announce A Night at the Oscars to be held at The Horizon Stage, Spruce Grove on Friday May 8, 2009.

The event will commence at 6:00 pm with members of the audience strolling down the red carpet.  The first part of the show, starting at 7:00 pm, will be the viewing of those films nominated for awards.  During interval the audience will vote for the Best Picture award.  The second part of the show will be the awards presentations.

Cost of tickets will be $ 5.00 per person and tickets will go on sale on March 1, 2009

All interested parties are encouraged to submit films to YLM on the following basis :

1. Film Categories :  Comedy - Drama/Action - Documentary - Other (animation, stop motion, music, silent)

2. Cut off for film submission will be March 31, 2009 to Matt Briseboise at 23 Deer Park Boulevard or  SPF at 74 Deer Park Boulevard, Spruce Grove

3. Films with unnecessary profanity and violence will be returned to the producer for an opportunity to do a final edit and re-submission by April 20, 2009

4. Maximum length of film - 6 minutes

5. Format for submission - on DVD in a WAV file (preferred but other formats accepted)

6. All details of the film - category, title, producer, actors names etc to be included with the submission along with contact phone number

7. A select panel of judges will judge the movies to determine awards which will include Best Actor, Best Actress, Best in Category, Best Script etc

Due to time constraints not all movies will be shown in their entirety.  Select clips may be shown and a DVD of all films submitted will be produced for sale as a memento of the event.
